Somatic Sound Journeys sind dreidimensionale akustische Landschaften, die aus einer grossen Vielfalt von stereophon aufgenommenen Naturgeräuschen und akustischer Musik aufgebaut sind. Musik und Klang regen emotionale und intuitive Assoziationen an, die über den Körper gespürt werden und Raum eröffnen das somatische Bewusstsein zu trainieren.
Somatic Sound Journeys wurden von der somatischen Lehrerin Catarina Brazão und dem Komponisten Markus Pesonen entworfen, mit der Absicht, durch Beobachtung und Erkundung unserer selbst in Verbindung mit den Klängen ein Gefühl für den Körper zu erlernen.
Jede Sound Journey ist einzigartig, da die jeweilige Komposition im Moment kreiert wird. Markus verbrachte viele Jahre damit, Klänge aufzunehmen, verschiedene Instrumente zu spielen und mehrere Tracks zu komponieren, die jetzt das Material für die Sound Journeys darstellen.
Die Somatic Sound Journeys sind Teil eines laufenden Forschungsprojekts namens Acoustic Body®, bei dem es nicht nur um die Auswirkungen von Klang und Vibrationen auf Menschen und Umwelt geht, sondern auch um ihr Potenzial, uns zu helfen, Gefühle zu verarbeiten und (traumatische) Erinnerungen zu lösen. Das Projekt untersucht, wie Klang als Werkzeug genutzt werden kann, um selbstregulatorische Fähigkeiten in einem sicheren Raum zu trainieren.

Somatic Sound Journeys are three-dimensional sonic landscapes that involve a variety of nature sounds and acoustic music recorded binaurally. Music and sound elicit emotive and intuitive associations that can be felt physically, opening up a space to train somatic awareness.
The experience is accompanied by a blindfold mask that enables total darkness even with open eyes. A holographic speaker system is also used, balancing our hearing and thus bringing a sense of deep centredness. You are invited to use the experience for somatic processing of sensations, emotions or any information that is produced by the impact of the sound in the body. It’s a form of active listening that deepens self-awareness and the connection to the “soma” — the felt body.
Somatic Sound Journeys were created by Catarina Brazão and Markus Pesonen as a part of Acoustic Body® approach that brings together somatic education, eco-psychology and the power of sound to help people reconnect with their nature within and around.
